President's Club
Dear US Sailing Supporter,
Thank you for continuing to support US Sailing as we make great strides to advance the sport of sailing. Your membership supports programs that increase awareness of the state of our sport to our members and cultivates relationships through strategic planning forums and independent panels.
The focus in 2012 was on Training, Safety-at-Sea, Race Administration, and Safety investigations. The generous contributions from the President’s Club supported these activities:
- Two independent review panels investigated the Farallones and Ensenada tragedies, and provided detailed reports of their findings that will have broad impact on sailor training, boat preparation, race management, and organizationan collaboration.
- In September, hosted a two day Training, Race Administration, and Safety at Sea strategic planning session with key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- In early May, hosted a Race Administration forum in Annapolis for Judges, Umpires, and Committees to outline online training, growth of Race Official ships, and creation of new programs for local sailing organizations such as Race Committee 101, Club Judge, and Regional Umpire.
In addition to standard membership benefits, President’s Club members also receive regular communications from the President of US Sailing outlining our progress and opportunities. Additionally, they are invited to special President’s Club event at our Annual General Meeting and to the Rolex Yachtsman and Yachtswomen of the Year event, receive recognition as an annual donor in the Annual Report to members, and a President’s Club pin.
How your donation can help:
$1,000: Help cover costs for complimentary Jr. Racing Rules Package which provides the tools and resources to clubs so they are able
to properly introduce and teach junior sailors the Racing Rules of Sailing.
$2,500: Sponsor a introduction to Race Administration, Judge and Umpire Seminar for juniors and young adults
$5,000: Provide funding for the US Sailing disabled team to introduce and take 60 wounded veterans sailing for the day.
$10,000: Provide access to 20 disadvantaged & high risk youth to sailing lessons for one month.
